Free Meditation Class
As part of our grand opening program, Inner Peace Resolution will offer a free adult meditation class in Spanish, on Thursday, August 28th from 5:30-6:30 pm and in English on Thursday, September 4th from 5:30 to 6:30. The theme will be “Inner Peace in Our Daily Life”. The focus is contemplating life from a higher point of view and not getting caught up in the small stuff. A person’s physical and mental health depends on bringing inner peace to each experience and making wise decisions based on inner calmness and not inner struggle. Meditation has a number of health benefits, including stress reduction, improved attention, better memory, inner peace and even increased creativity and feelings of compassion. The practice of meditation can take on many different forms, but the one technique that seems most beneficial, and which also happens to be among the most traditional, is called mindfulness meditation, or focused attention. During mindfulness, practitioners are asked to focus their thoughts on one thought and one thought alone. The goal is to be firmly affixed to the present moment. This typically means concentrating on the breath and observing each inhalation and exhalation and without consideration to other thoughts.
